The event is a movie screening of "Live and Become", a film that "makes you feel the weight of history, of populations on the move in a restless multicultural world," wrote New York Times film critic Stephen Holden recently. A mother pushes her son to flee Ethiopia in hopes of creating a better life in Israel - but he must hide the fact that he isn't Jewish. Sponsored by the Santa Cruz Israel Action Committee and the Ethiopian/Eritrean Student Union. The event will take place on Wednesday, February 27 at 7:00PM at Soc Sci 2 Room 75 and is sponsored by the Santa Cruz Israel Action Committee and the Ethiopian/Eritrean Student Union.
